Come see Chuck Fryberger's latest film, "The Scene" at Porter's Pub on the UCSD campus.

Wednesday, January 18th, UCSD's Outback Adventures and Allied Climbers of San Diego team up for another climbing film showing at Porter's Pub. This time we'll be screening the latest from the director of "Pure" and "Core".  

What makes a climbing mecca? The Scene takes a comprehensive look into four major epicenters of hard climbing and training, and the characters who define them by their relentless commitment to the sport. Featuring groundbreaking first ascents in bouldering, trad, and sport climbing, including Chris Sharma's "Fight or Flight" (5.15b) in Oliana, Spain.

The Venue and Vibe

The screening will be held at Porter's Pub on the UCSD campus. There is an indoor theater with seats for about 100 people + standing room with an attached outdoor patio area with some seats. Arrive early if you want a seat indoors. There will one screen indoors and sound in both indoor and outdoor areas. The Pub puts on a great food special before the show and there are many beverages on tap. This is an all ages show,  there may be a very large crowd, many 21+ years old. Metered parking is $2 per hour in the Gilman Parking Structure or $1per 45 minutes for Lot 604. Both lots are about 2 blocks walk from the Pub.

Free street parking (with a 15-minute walk to the pub) can be found near the La Jolla Village Drive / La Jolla Scenic Drive intersection. 

Ticket Purchase:

Students: $1 advance / $2 at the door
Non-Students:  $6 advance / $8 at the door

This show may reach capacity, so be sure to reserve your tickets in advance. If not sold out, tickets will also be available at the door.

Advance purchase/issue tickets will be available for will call pickup up to 1 hour prior to the show. There are no paper tickets for this screening. Bring your ID to pickup your will call ticket. To enter the venue with a discount UCSD student ticket, YOU MUST BRING YOUR UCSD STUDENT ID.
