A popular hiking destination that also provides a lot of climbing opportunity. Some of the rock lower down on the peak was damaged in the 2003 fire so stay high and climb the good stuff. There are both bolted and traditional lines. Park at Paso Picacho Campground in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. Stonewall trailhead is across the street. Stonewall Peak is located within the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park.

Directions: From San Diego, head east on I-8 to Highway 79. Take Highway 79 north to the Paso Picacho Campground in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. Park in the campground day use area, the trail starts just across the highway.
