Santee Boulders

Santee Boulders Though definitely not the best, arguably, these are San Diego's most popular boulders. The climbing is on compact granite past crimpers from moderate to very difficult. Approach is 5 minutes, so a session after school or work is quite doable (the main reason for their popularity). Located in Santee, across Mast Boulevard from West Hills Park, Santee Boulders is a conglomerate of privately held parcels.

Directions: From San Diego’s Highway 52, take the Mast Boulevard Exit and go east. Park in the West Hills Park parking lot (.5 miles, across the street from the boulders). From Mission Gorge Road in Santee, head north on West Hills Parkway, east on Mast Blvd.
