Poway Crag

Poway Crag Poway Crags is home to many separate walls offering everything from short but tough sport climbing to 200 foot trad routes. Located high on Iron Mountain the hike in takes about an hour but rewards the climber with afternoon shade and an excellent view. Many routes are mixed so take a light trad rack up any route that appears to be sport bolted if you are unsure of the gear requirements. It is advised to wear a helmet and long pants in this area. Please respect the seasonal closure of the Ramona Wall area from December 15 through August 31.

Directions: Park in the parking lot at the East end of Poway Road. Hike up toward Iron Mountain but head left at the saddle instead of toward the summit. Just past the Ramona Overlook you will see the crag. To Access the Ramona Wall area, continue up the trail about 100 yards to a sharp u in the trail. Follow the cairns on the right (East) to the top of the wall. Descend the skiers' right side of the wall to its base.
