Home to the famous Lowenbrau Pinnacle—a pinnacle of granite standing over 100 feet tall with several great traditional routes. Tons of bouldering surrounds the pinnacle. McCain Valley is east of Alpine, located within the El Centro District of BLM managed public lands.

Directions: From San Diego, head east on I-8 to the 94/Campo Exit, turn right. Go left at Old Highway 80, left on McCain Valley Road, then left onto a dirt road at the recreation area sign. Drive approximately 5 miles to a left turn and small parking area, hike west to the pinnacle.
