King Swing at Mesa Rim!
On Friday, October 21st, fifty people participated in a King Swing to benefit ACSD. Check out the video here! Mesa Rim will be hosting our December member meeting, and holding periodic events to help raise awareness of ACSD's mission to maintain climbing access around San Diego. Thank you Mesa Rim!

New Sign at Mission Trails
ACSD and Mission Trails Regional Park have teamed up to replace some unclear signage along the Climbers' Loop Trail within the park. These signs now indicate where climbers may access routes, while prohibiting general hiking in the area. Projects like these help strengthen ACSD's relationships with local land managers, while clarifying access issues for the local climbing community.

Local Seasonal Closures Lifted
San Diego crags are heading into peak season for excellent temperatures and no nesting closures! All Cleveland National Forest climbing areas including Corte Madera, Eagle Peak, and Glenn Cliff are all fully open after a successful raptor nesting season. These closures only affect portions of the crag, and these sections change somewhat each year depending on where birds chose to nest. Check back for regular updates on climbing access. Corte Madera and Eagle Peak may have seasonal closures beginning in early 2012, dependent on nesting activity. Climb on!
Volunteer Opportunities
Do you have a volunteer project idea?
ACSD is always looking for ways to help out the climbing community, or the outdoor community in general. We are currently looking for opportunities for next year, including clean-ups, crag maintenance, trail days, and other areas where help is needed. Do you have an idea for one? Let us know your idea here, or mention the idea at any member meeting when we ask for new business!
CNF Recognizes Climbing
The CNF now officially recognizing rock climbing on their "Recration" page. No content is up yet, but we have offered to help develop content.
Check out the CNF Recreation page.
Member Slideshows
We love it when ACSD members cap off our meetings with a slideshow about a recent expedition they've been on. If you've got one you'd like to share, let us know at akimmerly@alliedclimbers.org.
